Elephants charging cars is well known in this region but they only seem to charge vehicles and not individual people, if it charges a car that you are in and you get out it will leave you alone. An old friend of mine was part of a film crew in Botswana and saw this happen many times, almost always when there were calves around.
Never knew Botswana was in South Africa. I mean those are two separate and sovereign nations, very different in many respects and well closer to each other being on the same side of the continent and obviously having relatives maybe on either sides but they certainly are not in each other. Southern Africa is the part of the continent they are in but South Africa is a country much as Botswana is.
