I choose to farm because I can feel connected to the land, and to where our food comes from. How can I compete with another farmer that doesn’t step foot in their fields? If it’s cheaper to have no employees and have little downtime, many of us will be pushed out in favour of huge operators, and the huge tech companies that support them. Is that a future that’s best for everybody? Deere can’t seem to make their existing tech work reliably on a normal tractor so I’d have even less confidence in anything like this being anywhere close to reliable. Plus farmers for the most part want to be in the field so they really know what is going on with their land and no amount of tech will replace a good operator
