It looks like that US as we know it may undergone a significant change under the presidency of business mogul turned president, Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Trump<\/a>\u00a0wasted no time when he went on to fulfill a number of the promises he had made during the pre-election campaign, such as the withdrawal from the World Health Organization and renaming the Gulf of Mexico, among the rest.<\/p>\n

He did this by signing a plethora of executive orders.<\/p>\n

In his inauguration speech, Trump announced that \u201cThe golden age of America begins right now,\u201d referring to himself as to a \u201cpeacemaker and a unifier.\u201d<\/h2>\n

Now, some believe that his plans to implement the changes he had been bragging about would take more than just four years as the head of the country.<\/p>\n

Given this, Congressman Andy Ogles\u00a0introduced<\/a>\u00a0a House Joint Resolution that would amend the U.S. Constitution to allow a president to serve up to three terms, but no more.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump\u2019s decisive leadership stands in stark contrast to the chaos, suffering, and economic decline Americans have endured over the past four years. He has proven himself to be the only figure in modern history capable of reversing our nation\u2019s decay and restoring America to greatness, and he must be given the time necessary to accomplish that goal,\u201d Ogles wrote on his website.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo that end, I am proposing an amendment to the Constitution to revise the limitations imposed by the 22nd Amendment on presidential terms. This amendment would allow President Trump to serve three terms, ensuring that we can sustain the bold leadership our nation so desperately needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Currently, the 22nd Amendment prevents any president to be elected more than twice.<\/h2>\n

This was ratified in 1951, following Franklin D. Roosevelt\u2019s unprecedented four-term presidency, making him the sole US president who has served the country more than two terms.<\/p>\n

The congressman went on to say that it\u2019s \u201cimperative that we provide President Trump with every resource necessary to correct the disastrous course set by the\u00a0Biden\u00a0Administration.\u201d<\/p>\n

To make this change happen, both the House of Representatives and the Senate must pass the proposal with at least a two-thirds vote. It should then be ratified by at least 38 of the 50 U.S. states before the president signs it into law.<\/p>\n
