Hamaad Raza, the man whose wife was on board American Airlines Flight 5342 when it collided with a US military helicopter, shared the last text she had sent to him.<\/p>\n

The plane was flying from Wichita, Kansas to Washington DC. and crashed at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night.
\nIn a heartbreaking interview with WUSA9, Raza revealed his wife texted him, \u201cLanding in 20 minutes.\u201d When his replies weren\u2019t delivered, he sensed something could not be right.<\/p>\n

Raza\u2019s wife, who had traveled to and from Wichita for work, was fearful of flying and never really felt comfortable while on board, Raza disclosed with reporter Larry Miller.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just praying that somebody\u2019s pulling her out of the river right now, as we speak.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s all I can pray for, I\u2019m just praying to God\u201d, desperate Raza told WUSA9.<\/p>\n

American Airlines Flight 5342 carried 60 passengers and four crew members when it plummeted into the icy Potomac river. The helicopter carried three soldiers.
\nPeople reported that members of the U.S. Figure Skating team were also onboard the plane at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese athletes, coaches, and family members were returning home from the National Development Camp held in conjunction with the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita, Kansas,\u201d the governing body confirmed in a statement to the publication.<\/p>\n

As per the BBC, approximately 300 rescuers in rubber boats have been sent out on the Potomac River to search for survivors, said John Donnelly, Washington, DC\u2019s fire and emergency services chief.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe challenge is access, there is wind, pieces of ice (on the water). It is dangerous and hard to work in,\u201d Donelly said.<\/p>\n

Later, Donelly said, \u201cDespite their efforts, we are now at a point where we are switching from a rescue operation to a recovery operation. At this point, we do not believe there are any survivors from this accident.\u201d<\/p>\n
