A Texas community is mourning the loss of 18-year-old junior rodeo champion Ace Patton Ashford of Lott, who died in a tragic horse accident.<\/p>\n
On August 12, while caring for a sick calf near Chilton, a nearby horse became agitated, and Ashford\u2019s leg got tangled, dragging him across an open field, according to Lott Volunteer Fire Department.<\/p>\n
He suffered severe head injuries but was still breathing when help arrived. <\/p>\n
Ashford was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, where he later died. <\/p>\n
