Oliver 1850 Tractor and 253 Disc We were farming with an Farmall 400 and IH Super W6 when I bought a ten year old Oliver 2050. Unbelievable difference in technology and performance. I was advised to buy a 6×16 plow to use with that Oliver, but it was plain to see right away that it could handle two more bottoms. The 2255 came out three years after my 2050. It must have been a monster doing tillage work. -Ford invested in the development of the 3208 thinking that they would be the only one to be allowed to use them. When Cat started selling them to other manufacturers Ford quit putting Cats in their vehicles. I used to drive buses equipped with 3208s and liked them. After Ford quit using Cat engines when my boss bought Ford diesel buses they came with engines built by GM.
