Then when it gets to the processing plant it runs through another husk ing bed, people called corn sorters sit as the corn goes across a conveyor belt and pick out the odd ears or ears that need to be run through again to get the husks off. From there it goes into the corn dryer and when dry gets shelled. I’m in my 40’s but right after high school sorted corn and helped fill the bins. my uncle runs a big operation for seed corn. lots of different buildings with conveyors going to them and 5 grain legs Excellent job. Great to hear the pride in Grant’s voice when he was talking about you operating the havester. You looked nervous but ya did a excellent job n had fun too Her dad speaks about Laura with a similar note of pride. Very impressive. I remember the old days when we picked all our corn on the ear, with a tractor mounted corn picker. Amazing to see 14 rows at a time done.
