She was repeatedly sent ‘disturbing’ messages.

19-year-old Royal Artillery Gunner Jaysley Beck was found dead at Larkhill Camp in Wiltshire on December 15, 2021.

New details from the ongoing investigation revealed that she had been subjected to intense and unwanted behavior by Bombardier Ryan Mason, which contributed to her tragic death.

Over a month, Mason sent Jaysley around 3,600 messages, with his behavior becoming increasingly possessive and unsettling.

Jaysley expressed feeling “freaked out” and trapped in the situation, as she felt unsafe and feared Mason was watching her.

She even drafted a message to tell him his behavior was taking a toll on her mental health.Jaysley had also been dealing with personal struggles, including her uncle’s suicide and a breakup, and had previously reported an assault by a sergeant in the Army, which was inadequately addressed.

While the family rejects some claims, an Army inquiry pointed to her emotional turmoil and unhealthy relationships as factors in her death.
